Catheter Care for Healthcare Assistants

This course is designed to improve practice in caring for individuals living with an indwelling catheter. Content looks briefly at legal and ethical issues and underpinning theory relating to catheterisation. The session then focusses on practical catheter care issues, infection control considerations, perineal cleaning, fluid balance, complications and record keeping requirements. Delegates will practice on patient simulators.
