  • 2 Positions Available for Full-Time Training Consultant

Job Overview

We are excited to present an excellent opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and versatile trainer to join our team of training consultants/nurse educators on a permanent full-time basis.

 

The successful applicants will be contracted to 37.5 hours/week 9-5 Monday to Friday with occasional evenings required.

 

The posts will require successful applicants to deliver training on a variety of topics to clients on behalf of staff training and require use of IT, projection equipment, clinical equipment and medium fidelity patient simulators.

 

Successful applicants should expect to deliver training on core mandatory topics and additional clinical skills classes targeted at staff within the health & social care sector. This will include delivery of a proportion of the titles below:

  • Mandatory training topics such as: Moving & Handling, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Infection control, Complaints Handling, Safe Administration of Medications.

  • Nursing clinical skills including topics like Phlebotomy & Venepuncture, Catheterisation, Enteral Feeding, Managing deteriorating patient or Wound care.

  • OSCE preparation for overseas nurses

  • FAW, EFAW or ILS

  • MAPA or equivalent.

  • General patient/client care such as catheter and stoma care, nutrition and hydration, dysphagia and IDDSI.

  • Dementia awareness and Behaviours That Challenge.

  • Topics relating to brain injury, learning disability and mental health.

  • Management topics like performance management, supervision and appraisal.

 

The successful applicants will not be expected to work outside their areas of practice experience & competence and will be provided with training and support to develop their course repertoire over time.

 

If you feel you have the right qualifications and skill set but are yet to develop your experience in the breadth of topics we require, we are willing to invest in the right person for the role to meet these requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with NMC or Equivalent or a proven track record of training in the health & social care sector.

  • A recognised training qualification at minimum Level 3 – Education & Training, level 3 - Delivering Adult Learning, or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication skills and motivation to improve clinical practice through exceptional training.

  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

  • Flexibility to travel to clients and to work occasional evenings.

  • Versatility in the number of topics able to deliver.

 

Desirable Criteria:

Training experience or expertise on any of the following topics:

  • Nursing clinical skills including topics like Phlebotomy & Venepuncture, Catheterisation, Enteral Feeding, Managing deteriorating patient or Wound care.

  • OSCE preparation for overseas nurses

  • FAW, EFAW or ILS

  • MAPA or equivalent.
