Safe Administration of Rectal Medications
This session looks at safe and effective administration of medicines via the rectal route including simulated practice in the administration of suppositories and phosphate enema. The course looks at legislative and guidance requirements, the theory & rationale behind rectal administration and ethical issues surrounding this route of administration. Delegates will look at some specific examples of commonly administered preparations before walking through simulated practice.
