Pain Management for Nurses

This session is aimed at nursing staff wishing to refresh and update their knowledge on pain. The pathophysiological mechanisms of the main types of pain are revised including on a discussion on chronic pain and the pain ladder. The session looks at pharmacological interventions including a focus on opioid analgesia, dosage calculations and pain assessment. Further practical advice on non-pharmacological interventions is given with a discussion on holistic pain management.
