Managing the Deteriorating Patient including: ABCDE approach, EWS and SBAR

The full day course is designed to apply the ABCDE approach in the social care setting, taking principles from emergency medicine and applying them with consideration of available equipment and other resource in a care home. Delegates will go in to some background on the rationale behind the approach followed by a series of practical applications commonly seen in seriously ill patients in the community. The practical OSCE style stations allow the nurse to develop confidence in managing patients until emergency help arrives and provide a concise handover to the medical team.
