We are proud to announce this intensive 3-4 day course as a brand new offering. The course has been carefully designed specifically for staff working with individuals where the use of Restrictive or Non-Restrictive interventions may be required as part of their support plan.
We stand out from our competitors though our unique training approaches and by offering the flexibility to adapt the specific physical interventions required to suit the needs of your team and service users, be that to an advanced level or in emergency responses to behaviour.
In our inaugral year we are working towards accreditation with BILD against the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards.
Whilst going through this process we are offering the course at a reduced rate to commissioning organisations. Please note we require new organisations to complete a training needs analysis prior to delivery of the course and you should factor in the time (6-8 weeks) to complete the process when choosing potential course dates. We recommend choosing the invoice option when selecting payment type for this course due to the timeframe to prepare.
Description
We’re pleased to announce the release of MBCAPI, our course designed to support staff to respond effectively to behaviour’s of concern by improving decision making, maximising safety and reducing the need for restraint and restrictive interventions.
The course has three core component modules, the first focussed around the principles of restraint reduction and effective decision making, the second relating to appropriate responses to behaviour including prevention strategies such as PBS, use deescalation techniques, and practical use of non-restrictive and restrictive physical interventions as an absolute last resort. The third module relates to the aftermath of a crisis with a focus on appropriate record keeping, reflection and learning, preventing re traumatisation and continuing restraint reduction.
Within the modules we provide a wealth of important information, tips and advice to help staff to become proficient in a range of strategies designed to promote the rights of service recipients, improve therapeutic relationships and massively reduce the reliance on restraint and restrictive interventions.
We examine the impact of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
Delegates receive a free training manual and are assessed by both written assessment and practical competency assessment. The course is available as full course and refresher.
Upon completion delegates receive our exclusive CAPIcard™ which is valid for 12 months.
